I only just found this community, and am wondering if people are interested in reviving it. I'm very new to dyeing, but the other day I did make this:

Three-quarter sleeve top tie-dyed in a mixture of purple and amethyst.

It's a plain white top from Cotton Traders, dyed with Procion MX; solid colour amethyst, then tied and overdyed with purple.

It's not quite perfect; I was worried about the purple getting under the string, so I wasn't vigorous enough in working the purple dye in to the parts between the ties. I think it looks pretty good though.

These tops are sewn with polyester thread (this type of dye doesn't take on artificial thread), but the effect of this remaining white is fairly subtle, and looks like it could be on purpose, so it doesn't bother me too much.

Anyone else done anything fun recently?
